April 2016 Online Exhibition

Landscapes

"For me, a landscape does not exist in its own right, since its appearance changes at every moment; but the surrounding atmosphere brings it to life - the light and the air which vary continually. For me, it is only the surrounding atmosphere which gives the subjects their true value." ~Claude Monet

Welcome to Landscapes, Fusion Art's International Online Juried Art Exhibition for April 2016. We once again received a diverse collection of quality artwork from artists in over half a dozen countries including the US, Canada, England, Mexico, India, Australia, Pakistan, and France. For this competition artists and photographers were encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of natural scenery and the physical elements of landforms such as mountains, hills, valleys, deserts, farmland, trees, rivers, lakes, ponds, forests, wilderness, polar regions, rainforests, islands and tropical landscapes. The artwork could range from realism to surrealism to abstraction.

Each month Fusion Art presents awards in two categories: Traditional Art and Digital Art & Photography. The Landscapes Best in Show winners are Raquel Stokes for her acrylic on canvas, “A Tale of Two Mountains,” and Markelle Palombo for her photograph on fine art fiber rag, “Lassen.” Both Raquel and Markelle are Fusion Art's Featured Artists for the month of March 2016. For more information about Raquel and Markelle please visit the Featured Artists page.

Other Landscapes award winners include Second Place winners, Preston Craig for his acrylic on canvas, "Napa Red” and Nicholas Teetelli for his digital photograph, “Lollipop II.” Third Place awards were given to Lynn Budney for her oil on canvas, “Driftwood-Summer” and Bette Levine for her digital photograph, “Misty Morning in a Small Lagoon.” The remaining finalists in the exhibition all exemplify uniquely creative talents and we're honored to showcase their artwork on the Fusion Art website.

As always, we'd like to take this opportunity to, once again, thank all the competition participants. While not all the artwork that was submitted was selected for inclusion in the exhibition, this in not necessarily a reflection on any one artist's talent and/or skill.  It takes courage to put your art out there for critique by others and all the artists should be applauded for their efforts. We appreciate all of you sharing your extraordinary talent with us.

For anyone interested in purchasing any of the artwork in the exhibition, please contact the artists directly. Fusion Art does not engage in selling the artwork featured in any of its monthly online exhibitions. All purchase inquiries should be directed to the artist directly. You will find the artist's website and/or email information below their work.

Thank you for visiting our website and enjoy the exhibition!
